We found an awesome winery and took in a tasting and came home with some as a souvenir. If you're ever in the Hendersonville, NC area, check out Burtshirt Vineyard. They have a wide variety of wines to try and they're all absolutely delicious. For $7 you can try seven of their wines AND bring home the glass.
We went to the Carl Sandburg Estate and walked around the grounds. This is a dog-friendly area, so Quest was able to come with us. We got to see the goats and Carl's special chair where he did his big thinking in the woods.
Our final day in the mountains, we went to DuPont State Forest and took in the view. This park has dozens of waterfalls. We only got around to seeing two of them before it being time to head back. This is definitely on our to-do list if we make it back up there.

Once, we got home it was a flurry of unpacking (we still have the half unpacked suitcase in the middle of our basement living room floor) and cleaning up the house.
Trying to adjust back to our routine has been difficult. I haven't prepped any of our meals in advance, which has led to more eating out, which in turn led to an increase in the weigh-in. I haven't been tracking my calories as I should be. I haven't set foot in the gym either. However, I have been hiking and taking the dog for longer walks. Quest appreciated our outings until about a week ago when he injured his leg on our hike. The rest of the week was spent fussing over him and trying to keep him quiet to give his leg a chance to heal. He was walking fine by Friday, but is still on limited play (no dog park or long hikes until this coming weekend).
He looks so pitiful :(
This past Saturday and Sunday was spent repainting the hallways of our house. We bought it in October and since then have been living in a hope where the previous owner was obsessed with pink. Seriously, you cannot go into a room and at least one wall not be pink. Oh, and our lovely carpets...yeah, they're pink too. I did get quite a workout climbing up and down ladders and using a roller for about 10 hours though!
After. A nice light cream.
We still have the carpet, but it will be ripped out in the spring.

Quest helped out by disposing of the painters tape rolls.
A new week and a new day. It is time to get back on track. It really hits home when you're brushing your teeth and you can feel your butt jiggling. Yeah...time to hit the gym again. Tonight I am going to go and do the 30 minute circuit and then start the C25k program again. Days not spent running will be 30 Day Shred. Fun stuff. I also need to fit in Quest's walks or he will drive me crazy.
